PRESSURE CLEANING SURREY,SUSSEX,HAMPSHIRE AND LONDON

Spring is here! feb 2010

After a long bleak and particulary cold winter spring is officialy here! This is now the time to start looking forward to warmer days and lighter evenings, and hope for a sunny hot summer!

Within a few weeks the grass will need its first mow, plants will need a prune and the garden in general will need a tidy up, which brings me to the point of this blog! Our paths, patios, decking and garden furniture tend to get overlooked by most people for a few reasons, mainly not having the right equipment and that its a very wet and messy job. Granted you could buy an electric pressure washer and undertake the job yourself but a proffesional with a petrol or diesel powered  machine will achieve much better results in a much quicker time.

After a hard winter patios and decking accumalate a build up of dirt, lichen, moss and algae leaving the surface looking drab and grey. With a proffesional clean we can rejuvinate these areas leaving them with that "as new" look, bringing back the natural colour in stones such as york paving and sandstone leaving you able to appreciate the natural texture .

When first installed patios, decking and driveways cost a small fortune which is another reason to keep them looking their best, plus the fact that paving slabs and decking when covered in algae are leathal particulary when wet, one clean removes this and we can also supply a treatment to help keep algae at bay. Most jobs can be completed in one day except blockpaving which needs a second visit to re-sand the joints with kiln dried sand and decking/garden furniture which needs treating when dry.

So let us rejuvinate your hard landscapes and you will be able to have a relaxing summer safe in the knowledge that your drives, paths and patios are clean, safe and ready to face what ever the great brithish weather throws our way this winter!

reward scheme march 2010

We are very excited to introduce our new reward scheme, initialy it is for the domestic sector, but hopefully will extend to commercial works later this year.

We are all feeling the downturn in the economy and after the election will probably find ourselves out of pocket further which is why we are introducing this money back scheme.

How it works is we for example clean your drive or patio, you then pay the full price, if you then recommend us to one of your friends or family and we are employed to work for them you would be entitled to 10% refund once the job was completed and we have received our payment. You can recommend upto a maximum of 4 times, so in total you are able to receive a 40% refund from your original job price!

If you have any queries please contact us for more details.

preserve your blockpaving march 2010

We have pressure cleaned many driveways throughout Surrey,Sussex,London,Hampshire and Berkshire which are usally either tarmac or blockpaving on many occasions the driveways have been neglected for years, as a result with the tarmac drives there have been times when there is nothing we can do to rejuvinate them as the tarmac has started lifting, luckily with blockpaving we can nearly always bring it back to life!

The main problems we come across are:

Areas of paving sinking

Oil stains

Sealers not properly applied

Beacause blockpaving sits on a bed of sand and then has kiln dried sand brushed in between the blocks, after years off traffic, weed growth and rain the sand can be disrupted causing the blocks to sink and move. This can be avoided with a regular weed killing, pressure cleaning and re-sanding programme keeping the driveway looking new and well cared for.

Oil stains can be tricky to remove and in some cases where the oil has soaked into the blocks there will always be a shadow left. We have various methods to remove the oil and we always try enviromentaly friendly treatments before resorting to chemicals, alternativley we can replace those blocks with new but 99% of the time we can remove oil stains to client satisfication.

Sealers not properley applied are a rarer problem but can be a major one, i personally am not a big fan but will use if asked. The problem is if they do not take properly alot of chemicals have to be used to remove the sealer i have heard of cases where a new drive has had to be installed as the sealant had ruined the blocks. The conditions for applying sealers have to be warm, still and most importantly dry, so if you really want your drive sealed make sure the conditions are perfect, it really is a summer job.

Those are the three main problems we come across with blockpaving and must stress that they really are an easy material to keep clean and should last for a very long time if looked after properly.
